Movement Monday! Strong Body, Strong Planet. There are so many different ways to be mindful- the way you move, the foods you eat and how you take care of nature (and people!) around you.

We are heading into another dry year in many places around the world, with projected record-setting temperatures. That means conserving our water has never been more important. And this week's Movement Monday is just the inspiration you need to both keep your body strong and your planet happy.

What do you do with your dish water? Your bath and shower water? If you are like most people, it simply goes down the drain. Now imagine if you took that water and used it to feed your flower and plants instead of turning on the hose every time your plants need to be watered. And then imagine how happy your body feels carrying that water from the bathroom to outside. Take that a step further and imagine how your water bill looks by the end of the summer!

In fact, by the end of the summer you could imagine yourself strong through your core, arms and back, your plants and flowers flourishing and the earth a little bit happier.

Last summer we started transporting our water from the bath and dishes (of course using all natural soaps) to water our plants and does it ever feel good on so many levels to do so! It's a beautiful feeling when it takes 6 trips to empty the tub after a bath and realizing that all that water would have simply gone down the drain.

Yes it takes time and commitment but when you look at the big picture and see all the varied benefits, it is so worth it. And if you have kids, invite them to participate. Then it becomes not only a great family physical game, but also a great opportunity to talk about supporting the environment and our choices that we make.

By the way, we use the water collected from our rain barrel to feed our veggie garden and the dish and bath water for our plants and flowers. :)

Thanks to Nutritious Movement for the great idea! And as always, feel free to share and leave a comment below. I would love to hear how you save water, and other environment supportive gardening ideas! Have a fabulously green and sunny week! xoxo
