Yoga Teacher Anatomy Tools: Day 1
Welcome to Day 1!
Thoracic Spine Anatomy, Breathing and Movement

Are you ready to move + learn?
Our popular "move + learn" style of teaching helps make big concepts feel real and whole within your body, which will be a gamechanger for your teaching.
In today's lesson, Brea takes you through the anatomy of the thoracic spine to discover how its mobility can enhance breathing and overall movement for your students. We'll be exploring twists and subtle movements which will be quite eye-opening!
Enjoy the 30 minute "move + learn" lesson. Simply scroll down to watch the video.
Props: You can do this sitting or standing. If you're sitting, grab whatever props help you feel comfortable.
Wow this was amazing, I've learned so much! I've been wanting to learn about anatomy for years but was never attracted to just reading a book, and your embodied experience of anatomy is meeting my wish to learn more in a fun way, I cannot thank you enough!
Homework:
As you move through the rest of your day, check into your thoracic spine with your newly deepened awareness and connection. How does your spine and breathing feel to you now?
For further exploration: Write down three poses that would benefit from this new awareness of the thoracic spine. Then try the poses and see how it works.
This is where curiosity is your friend! There aren't hard and fast rules when applying this education to your yoga asana and other movements. You have permission to play and make it work for you.
See you in the next lesson!
