You are the Creator!

The Creator Personality

Creativity is your middle name. You might not think of yourself as an artist in the traditional sense, but with your never-ending ideas and comfort with innovative and out-of-the-box thinking, you thrive in the space of creation.

You easily come up with ideas, sometimes find yourself daydreaming and staring at the clouds. Big picture thinking and visualization comes to you easily. People love you for your open-mindedness and often come to you to help them problem-solve or get inspiration.

The flip-side to creativity is that you can find it difficult to stick to a plan or finish projects. Numbers, spreadsheets and to-do lists are usually on the bottom of your list (if you've even created a to-do list!). You can feel confined if you have to follow someone else's plans or ideas, and you've probably struggled to follow a specific system, lineage or teacher for very long.

If you don't find an outlet for your creativity, you can feel like you don't have a purpose or start to get frustrated or lost. The biggest thing for creators is to recognize that creativity comes in many different forms. Creativity doesn't always mean painting or drawing, creativity is tuning into the heart and following the inspiration that arises from there.

Creators will thrive when they give themselves permission to follow their hearts (even if their head says something different) and learn to trust their innovative and out-of-the-box ideas. If you are a creator who has struggled with trusting yourself and doing something outside the mainstream, be it family or culture, owning your unique voice and perspective is an important part of your practice of self-awareness.

Creators as yoga teachers

As a yoga teacher, you love learning new concepts and feel comfortable incorporating them into your classes. You don't always fit into the mainstream and your classes often look like a hybrid of different modalities or approaches. You like this because you also feel that one specific way of doing things doesn't work for everyone and you feel better when you can offer variations and have a big toolbox of ideas to choose from.

As a yoga teacher, trust your creative impulses, trust your intuition about your classes and trust that it's ok to not always come to class with a plan!

Using your Creator powers for good in the world

You can feel confident to honour who you naturally are. Honour your creativity, it's one of your superpowers. See your daydreams and visions as part of your creativity, trust your flashes of insight. Find a way each day to be creative, whether that is simply gazing at the clouds, playing with your children, signing in the shower or writing down your hopes, dreams and gratitude.

Creators help to birth new visions into the world. In these changing times, we need creators who are willing to do things differently, who are able to help dismantle systems that are no longer serving us and help pave a new path forward. Team up with others who can help you organize and implement your visions for the world and work as a community to make these changes.
