5 Days to Restore: Day 2
Here you are. Welcome back and take a big deep breath as you invite a sense of calm to your body and mind.
Day 2: Hips
How did your shoulders feel after yesterday's class? Today we move our loving attention to the hips with a dynamic relaxation. What is dynamic relaxation? It's where you enjoy helpful movements to encourage deeper relaxation. The movements may require a little dash of effort, but it's in that effort that you'll get the benefits and feel extra relaxed when you're done.
In today's class, you'll be moving your legs in a wonderful side-to-side swing that invites your hip flexors and psoas muscles to find a little more ease.
What you'll need:
Grab a bolster, yoga block or firm pillows/blankets to build your support for the pose. You can have an optional yoga strap or scarf as well.
And as with yesterday's class, if you need more rest, you can spend a little longer after the class is over to enjoy more quiet downtime for yourself.
Stand still. The trees ahead and bushes beside you are not lost. Wherever you are is called Here, and you must treat it as a powerful stranger, Must ask permission to know it and be known. The forest breathes. Listen. It answers, I have made this place around you. If you leave it, you may come back again, saying Here. No two trees are the same to Raven. No two branches are the same to Wren. If what a tree or a bush does is lost on you, You are surely lost. Stand still. The forest knows Where you are. You must let it find you.
